Iran’s former president Abohassan Banisadr, in an interview with Radio Asre Jadid,(1) compared Netanyahu with Hitler when criticizing the Israeli army's war in Gaza. In part of the interview he said: "Mr. Netanyahu has resorted to excuses in order to start a war. In fact, as one American philosopher (Chomsky) argues, this should not be described as war but a crime; in fact, it is a crime because from air, land and sea they are bombing defenseless people. Maybe you want to stand next to the first-rate criminals of history. This is an enduring historical fact: many people who were victims of tyrants became tyrants themselves as soon as they had an opportunity. Maybe Mr. Neyanhau become annoyed and said, 'no no no, did you compare me with Hilter?' Dear, crime is crime. He (Hitler) committed crimes against Jews, and you are committing crimes against Arabs. He (Hitler) expelled you from Germany or killed, and you have expelled Palestinians from their homes and don’t even let them live in that little scorched land.”
